Arsenal have been forced to go into the transfer market in search of a holding midfielder, following injuries to Thomas Partey and Mo Elneny. There have been reports that the club have tried for Arthur Melo of Juventus and other midfielders across Europe, but new reports have linked them to a Brazilian defensive midfielder in Danilo.

Accordjng to Sami Mokbel of Mailsport, Arsenal are preparing a deal for the midfielder ahead of the deadline tomorrow. It is worthy to note that Danilo has been on Arsenal’s radar for a long time, as he possesses similar qualities to Thomas Partey and is good on the ball. Although left footed, he is able to pull the same calibre of passes in the class of Thomas Partey and is pretty young.

It would be nice to see how Arsenal would fit him and Sambi Lokonga in the team going forward, whether or not it would affect their chase for Youri Tielemans and how it impacts Thomas Partey’s future at the north London club.
